a trip to my hometown and a market update

We got home yesterday from a family vacation to my hometown- South Haven, Michigan. It was Grayson's first time and Lucy's second. I was excited because I knew she'd love the beach-I was soooo right. It was a great trip full of eating shopping, swimming, playing and sightseeing. The weather was perfect in the low 80's the whole time and the kids did great with few tantrums. All in all we're marking it off as a big success and we can't wait to return next year.

A special announcement about Elizabeth Gray at the Indie Arts & Vintage Market. Due to the remanants of Isaac headed our way the promoters of the show have made the call to move it from this Saturday to Monday {Labor Day} I've even brought back a few treasures to share with you from our trip up north! I hope to see you all there! For more info click {here} and don't forget to Like us on Facebook to get all the updates on Elizabeth Gray. I'm working hard on the next chapter as this is the last scheduled market of the year. I will let you know exciting news soon!

Have a great Thursday!

2.5

My little bestie/ baking buddy turned 2.5 this week. It's hard to believe just 6 months ago we feared she'd never talk and now she a sweet little chatter box. It's almost like she was just waiting until she got really good at it before she felt like doing it. Now that Gray is getting bigger she's taking more and more interest in him too. She loves to climb in his crib with him and talk to him. I'm so happy they have each other to grow up with.

Happy 2.5 LuLu. You make me so proud!

busy weekend

What a whirlwind this weekend was. I got so much done though so it was totally worth it. I'd been working on this beautiful vintage table set for a couple of weeks in phases. The top was stripped and re-stained in a dark walnut and the apron and legs were distressed and painted in ballet white- there is also an additional leaf. I still need to finish upholstering the seats in the below fabric from Pottery Barn. I love how rich yet soft it turned out. I wish I had a breakfast room to put her in.

Then there is this awesome chest of drawers. Solid pine- distressed and painted in ballet white with new hardware. Would be perfect to hold a large flat screen tv with tons of storage.

I hope you have a beautiful week. Lucy has her 2.5 check-up today, I can't believe she's half way to three already!

ELIZABETH GRAY

FINE HOME FURNISHINGS & GIFTS

I sort of hinted at the new project I've had in the works in a post last week when I mentioned my booth at indie arts and vintage market. I'd like to formally {sounds so serious ha-ha} introduce you to Elizabeth Gray. Elizabeth Gray {named after my children Lucy Elizabeth and Grayson Nicholas} is a small business that was born out of a love for antiques, and giving old pieces of furniture new life. Our vintage and antique items are selected thoughtfully and with you the buyer in mind. We wouldn't market anything we wouldn't use in our own homes.

I'll be at the market on September 1st stocked with tons of freshly made over furniture and vintage housewares. The housewares are a continuation of the same types of items that I've carried in my Arkanoff Design Co. etsy shop.

Last night we launched our new Elizabeth Gray facebook page {here.} I'll be continually updating that page with photos of new items and furniture as they are finished so you can get a sneak peak at what we're bringing to the market. So hop on over {here} and be the first to like us!

I want to thank all of my friends and family that have done everything from letting me bounce ideas off of them to walking me through lot's of different practical business logistics. Your support means everything to me!

Hope you all have a fabulous Wednesday!!!
